An Illness Shown Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

An Illness Shown

It may be revenge one seeks to return.
From an evil done by another to do.
But refusing to do this.
With patience to allow.
And enforce upon oneself.
Is not an easy thing to do.
Although when done to witness it come,
Without assistance to continue an ignorance.
God provides a better solution than revenge.
God provides His own judgement to pass.
Upon those who do evil to others.
More effectively than anyone.
Who seeks revenge.
To know when shown,
How better God performs that task.
In ways a revenge to take,
Is far more creative.
If those with patience and kept faith,
Await until God does what only God can do.

Evil done expects evil to return.
And prepares to defend against it.
But when evil done does not know,
What it is to expect.
The mind of one evil,
Becomes inflicted with unrest.
And this becomes an illness shown.
No one but the evil doer,
Becomes known to do alone.
