Analytical Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Analytical

You keep your thoughts and feelings,
Under key and lock.
From behind closed doors you stay,
Suspicious of who knocks.

Analytical.
More each day you get.
And critical of everything.
Did politics do this?

No longer trusting.
Keeping to yourself.
Keeping what you once had shared,
Now with no one else.

Analytical.
More each day you get.
And critical of everything.
Did politics do this?

You say there's too much evil.
Hatred, conflict and upheaval.
You say there is too much crime.
On the streets and minds to find.

You keep your thoughts and feelings,
Under key and lock.
From behind closed doors you stay,
Suspicious of who knocks.

No longer trusting.
Keeping to yourself.
Keeping what you once had shared,
Now with no one else.

You say there's too much evil.
Hatred, conflict and upheaval.
You say there is too much crime,
On the streets and all the time.

Analytical.
More each day you get.
And critical of everything.
Did politics do this?

Did politics do this?

Analytical.
More each day you get.
You say there's too much evil.
Hatred, conflict and upheaval.

Did politics do this?

Did politics do this?
