Ancestral Racism Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Ancestral Racism

Who amongst us today lives,
Without being affected...
By tribal ancestral racism?
And who are they that can say,
They had not benefited...
From keeping their ethnicity,
Preserved in isolation.

Differences we have,
With kept beliefs.
Is as common today.
As that has been,
Throughout history.
For anyone to say,
They are not aware of this.
Yet...
Continue to refuse,
The obviousness...
Of our differences.
Either live in denial.
Or seek pretentiousness,
As a means to be approved.
With a doing to be accepted.

Escaping away,
From who we are to be.
Is to believe what God creates,
Has no diversity to observe.
To see this clearly.
And this for many,
Has caused animosity...
Bigotry, conflicts and division.
With lessons to learn,
Them taught from teachers...
Wishing with it wanted,
To revive and keep...
What has prolonged to age.
Staying to remain that way.

And in these days we live,
No one has yet been blessed...
With the ability,
To convince The Almighty God.
That what has been done,
Only God has chosen to do.
Could be better done.
While God watches.
And approves...
Their undoing of it.
Time after time.
Not to learn a thing.
Although blessed we are,
With minds to use and think!

'Hmmm...
Let's remove the trees.
And the air others breathe.'

'What an excellent idea.
I love it.
That will then prove,
Who amongst us...
Controls and rules! '
