And How Am I To Love The World Again? Poem by Sheena Blackhall

And How Am I To Love The World Again?

He had a mind inquisitive and quick
And he could sing the mavis off her perch
With his bravura swagger, cock of the walk
His flashing eye, oh he could charm the women
Into his bed like bees to the honeypot, and no mistake
He dressed in style, though often short of cash
And drew folk to him, legend of the streets

And how am I to love the world again now he's not in it
My fiery son, he of the roving eye and voice of a linnet?
