And The Trees Whispered Back Poem by Rachel Dowd

And The Trees Whispered Back

Rating: 4.0

I sat down in my spot one day
To talk to you again
"Momma" I sighed
I'm sorry I'm so late

"How are you and Grandpa doing? "
"Hows Duchess, Snoopy, and Paulie-the whole lot! "
I paused and listened

"Momma" I choked
"I love and miss you more everyday I wish I could give you a hug"
The wind was silent as I cried and rain began to fall
"Don't cry Momma I promise I'll be strong! "
Then I felt a hand touch my shoulder and hug caught me from behind
And a whisper in my ear said
" I love you and we're doing fine"

In amazement I looked up and saw
All of my loved ones standing tall
And like that they were gone!
"Again I cried I love you all! "
And the trees happily whispered back
"We love you too"
