Angel White And Devil Red Poem by Alyssa Lynn

Angel White And Devil Red

The Angel White and the Devil Red in my brain are having some issues; they’re fighting over what’s best for me again. You’d think by now they would give up on this game and instead maybe play monopoly? But no where’s the fun in that, where’s the conflict the danger?

Like pros and cons, waiting for me to decide what would should, has to be done. This war, I watch as if I am merely the narrator, I watch arrows fly yet not one from cupid, for there is no heart but flames. Yes a flaming arrow, while the angel sings sweet love songs, oh no the arrow it’s pierced her vocal chords.

Now like a caged bird she can’t sing. Red is quite pleased with herself now; her plan to sabotage is going according to plan. Angel attempts to be a mime, while Red simply cackles, at her attempt for “conversation”. Back and forth they go with this “dance”. Around and around in circles they spin, away and away until they’re dizzy. The Angel White soon wants to just surrender but Devil Red seems to think otherwise, the question is who will win this “war”, who will lead in this “dance”?

I guess the peace treaty was written in versaille? (ver•sai - remember history class?) I guess that's what you meant by it not being that simple. It's too bad it can't be, but the war is not over, and it would seem, this is only the beginning.
