The Hourglass Poem by Alyssa Lynn

The Hourglass

I need some time, I need a change. Don’t know how to believe in love, when at my age it merely washes away. I need a breath, need some space, I need something today...

Fill me in take the heart, see me, use me to play a part, find me wherever I may turn, fill me in on the lessons we learn.
Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is too far, I can’t see. Hold my hand, take a chance, let’s learn all over again how to dance.

Crawling through the smoke, to get to the other side. I don’t want to find another place to hide. Find my heart at the bottom of the sea, open up discover if there’s anything left of me.

Fill in my question marks, go all over these scars, look through the hourglass, and let me see what you find. Lay me down and breathe me in, let the rain drops pierce my skin. Wake me up from this routine…..before the hours pass, let’s do something crazy and look through the hourglass
