Angle's Song - Poem by Isabel Kestner

After the shatter of a heart the size of the sky,
after the thunderous rumbling of the world tumbling down,
after every god ever invented has failed in all ways mighty,
after the rolling tumbleweed orphan has learned there is no home,
after all of this, in the empty space,
in the canyon of lost echoes where the sun never
finds its way in, in the solitude of self
a voice is unhidden, a soul expands and contracts
beneath the skin giving the evidence that life continues,
giving rhythm to a song that only the angels know how to sing.
