I have seen lions and tigers in zoos,
Looking fierce. Who would be a lion tamer?
I have seen leopards streaking across the veldts
Of South Africa chasing prey until the end-game.
Men hunt deer and wild pigs in season.
They see it as a sport for some reason.
Maybe they like to fire rifles in the bush
Like soldiers in battle. I am no hunter.
In fact, I feel for the sheep and cattle
Which graze in the green paddocks
On farms. All they do is chew grass by day
And sleep out in the cold by night.
Dairy cows provide milk and cream,
While cattle are raised for beef,
Like lambs who are sadly slaughtered for meat.
I used to work on a roving gang, shearing sheep.

Your kindness towards animals is reflected from your attitude expressed here. This excellent poem carries essence for social awareness. This is very amazing. We should read this again and again.
I owe you a debt for 'Elegant Embrace', which gave me the idea of writing about animals myself. Thanks.
I also owe you a debt for the poem 'Elegant Embrace' which gave me the idea of writing about animals myself. Thanks.
You have walked around zoos in Auckland and Sydney and observed many animals of diverse categorizes and felt them very well. Many watch lions and tigers and they cannot face them while they are in fierce mood. Dairy cows provide us staple drink, milk. Animals have great role for mankind and these should be protected and preserved. I am glad that you have read my poem, 'Elegant Embrace, ' and expressed your excellent view. Your poem is very brilliantly penned by you.10
I very much like walking around at leisure in zoos. Animals fascinate me.
I am extremely pleased to know about your poem titled ' 'Elegant Embrace' which has inspired our poet friend Michael Walker to create this poetic nugget about man and animals. Thanks, Kumarmani ji. I will read that poem.
I've seen the former in a circus show and hope they're overfed rather than tortured into knowing not to bite.

The poem reflects your love of all kinds of animals- wild as well as domestic- and dislike for keeping them as pets. The details provided by you are quite enticing. Thank you so much for this wonderful portrayal.
Yes, I do love animals in general, at a distance. I would never have pets though.
