Anniversary Gifts Poem by Ima Ryma

Anniversary Gifts

Rating: 5.0

It was their anniversary.
One year in loving, wedded bliss.
Neither of them had much money,
But had in mind a gift for this.
A new wrist watch band she had seen,
To replace the one he had lost.
It said success in golden sheen.
It also said how much the cost.
A new easel stand for her art,
To replace the old broken one,
To hold safe what came from her heart,
Brushed onto canvas until done.

She sold her paints to buy his band.
He sold his watch to buy her stand.
