Another Jade Sunset In The Land Of Oz

another jade sunset in the land of Oz-
and we cannot seem to
come to terms with light
within or without-
full spectrum.

(attitude is everything
says Glinda in her voice
of myriad birds)

we do not hear her
being somewhat
a less than sentimental generation

thinking there is some other faceted nation
where we may be happier
some other gemlike

relocation
if only we could hang on
another day
slurping our dreamy milkshakes
under the Milky Way

and wake up and find it
like a floating island
miragelike before us.

people are rarely satisfied
smiles Glinda from file land
O through Z

her pink dress gleaming.
the life of Baum streaming.
