Viewing myself in the mirror
Nose against cold glass
Squinting my eyes
Glaring at my
Image
Defying
Myself to
See another view
Someone not in love
Someone not unaffected
Yet the only truth stares back
Unflinchingly, absolutely, this is me

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
You can't fight love, no matter how hard you look at the reality of your condition. If the current affliction which is making you toss and turn at night is love, there's no cure for it. Staring hard at the mirror will only reveal you more of what's true, you look more alive - you're in love!
