Anromeda Galaxy: Our Visiting Neighbour!

ANDROMEDA GALAXY: OUR VISITING
NEIGHBOUR!
(THIS POEM IS A SEQUEL TO: - ‘‘GALAXIES: STAR CITIES
IN SPACE’’)

Calculations by Astrophysicists’ indicate, -
That in a few million years from date, -
Our Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy,
Would eventually collide to embrace, -
Out there in that vast galactic sea!
They would form a single giant elliptical
galaxy in space, -
Like merger of two big corporate houses
on earth, -
In a commercially viable surviving race!
These two giant galaxies are approaching
each other around 120 km per second!
And after a few passes, in about a billion years, -
With gravitational pulls tugging their spiraling
arms,
A complete merger is predicted by five billion
years!
So never blame Poets when they ‘dream’, -
No matter how impossible now things may
appear or seem! !
The computer models which the scientists have
made suggests, -
Our solar system would survive this merger,
out there in space!
Though we are likely to be pushed out to the
outer halo of this New Galaxy;
Even though it all may sound like a fairy tale, –
To both you and me! !
