Anything Else? Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Anything Else?

Caught unprepared.
Caught to hear,
Making accusations.
Excuses to place blame,
On others to declare them at fault.
With a choosing to do this,
Without acknowledging...
A responsibility taken.
Yet quick to move fast,
From being held accountable...
Of what one does,
To initiate confusion.

"Is that all you got?
Anything else?
That's old stuff.
Heard enough,
To have chased away...
Impression makers.
Hypocrites and their faked intentions.

Those observations,
Have turned once thriving neighborhoods...
Into rust buckets.
And rats mugging cats to survive.
Nationwide.
Is that all you got?
That's old stuff.
You see these vacant churches,
All over the place boarded up?
Abandoned by faith claimers."
