Appearance Poem by Ima Ryma

Appearance

All dressed up to go on a date.
I looked great in my brand new dress.
He was more than two hours late,
And no phone call, stood up I guess.
Exasperated, off I took
The dress and put on my p.j.s,
And proceeded to read a book
On the couch in a comfy laze.
After a while the doorbell rang,
And my very late date stood there.
Wanted to cuss him out, but dang,
I'm too polite, so did not share.

He had the nerve to say to me,
'Ready, you don't appear to be! '
