April The First Poem by Richard D Remler

April The First

........

Aunt Petunia,
Did you know?
It's April First,
And we have snow!

The clouds of blue
And gray have come
To chase away
Our Spring time sun.

To spite the kiss
Of season's new.
And paint the skies
But gray and blue.

The wind is now
A frosty gale,
And sings a song
I know too well.

Our Winter's passed,
Her ghost decrees
A lie echoed
Even by the trees.

Even the robins
In their nest confide
There is a blizzard
Just outside.

And it will be
A long, long night,
As April paints
Our garden white,

And I watch the
Windy world pass
Through this frosty
Window glass.
