Are You Here Poem by Chiffon Ruffles

Are You Here

You hold my hand when we walk
Listen to me when I talk
Look at me with affection
But are you real or imagination
Do I see only ghosts
Of a love that is long lost
Or are you here with me now

Love it - short, simple, effective. I take it as a comment on the doubts inherent in human relationships, but its air of enigma leaves plenty of scope for other interpretations. Definitely your best piece to date, Chiffon, imo.

This intriguing poem is well written, Chiffon, and also charmingly phrased as well. You have the readers wondering whether this lover is real or imaginary, and the either a ghost or a long lost lover. It is that little mystery which makes this poem quite delightful! Carl.
