Aretha Franklin rest in peace.
You made great music for us all,
The sounds of which will never cease,
Forever for us to recall.
Decade after decade you sang
The songs that made us cheer and cry.
Your voice made each of us belong
To a connection from on high.
First lady inducted into
The Hall of Fame of Rock and Roll.
You sang gospel and rhythm blue,
And truly were the Queen of Soul.
