Aryan Khan- Face It With Grace Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Aryan Khan- Face It With Grace

A little boy
growing up and stepping out
into his own world;
care free yesterdays
but agonizing todays
as he confronts harsh realities;
was this party worth it,
he asks himself?

The little boy
lacking nothing
brought up in luxury,
yet so unbelievable his present story
just like a blockbuster-movie;
yet so plausible they make it
by moving him from custody to jail.
without proving
whether he is innocent or guilty
that the whole episode looks
like a real movie-set in Mumbai.

The little boy
so affluent and fun-loving,
why would he ever do anything like this
yet they highlight his situation
with fervor so fervent
that the focus is just on where he is
and where he is going next
from the courtroom
or from the police custody.

The little boy
a child of a super star
who could afford to order
trunkful of jewels and gold,
boxes full of expensive booze
and party the whole night thro'
yet he never did all these
but on that Cordelia Cruise Ship
he was caught in a trance,
just like a canoe rocking in a stormy weather.

The little boy
who lived and slept like a little prince,
suddenly experienced a jolt, a jail
when few weeks ago
he was such a free bird

The little boy
in the deepest oceans of doubt breathes
trying to collide illusions with justifications;
can life be so difficult at times- he asks himself
as his journey of self-realization has just begun.

The little boy,
the son of a super star
perhaps caught in an entrapment,
in a ploy that brings down and devastates
repute and prospects;
why was he not careful - the retrospect.

The little boy,
now lost in allegations, in investigations;
every one asks - why would he ever do this?
or will he succeed to by-pass the jeopardy
that is meant to discourage him
from a great future?

The little boy
so antagonized today
so helpless today,
searching for freedom
yet when will justice legalize liberalism?

The little boy
who could have gone to
Spain or Mexico
where one can smoke pot freely
as and when one wishes.

The little boy,
not a child anymore
but a man now,
misguided and perhaps tempted;
but will conspiracy ever reveal the game
that might have been played on him
or was it all so alluring?

The little boy
has to gather his courage
and face the dilemma;
while his parents will keep asking themselves
whether their child deserved this fate
when they loved him utmost?

The little boy
who has stepped out
in this big big world
now sits and inhales and exhales
the pain, the disbelief;
and perhaps sadly and deeply he weeps those tears
of remorse which no other eyes can see
yet to his inner courage he holds on
with grace and silent fortitude.

The little boy
who grew up next door
in that city where many sleep in hunger;
the little boy will decide never to make this error
as life is most beautiful
when freedom and nutrition is more valuable
than all the fun and laughter.
