As evening falls slowly
Shading the huts in darkness
The hill turns into a ghost by
The side of the river with a bizarre face
As evening falls slowly
With lights fading away afar
The clouds gather in the sky
Revealing on top the horizon a sweet star
As evening falls slowly
A stream waits for the moon
To play upon its crystal water
When inebriated trees sing and swoon
As evening falls slowly
Streets get wrapped in dust
As in a file cattle move to sheds
Hungry and tired swinging tails in a haste
As evening falls slowly
Girls gather around the well
To draw water and save in pots
As sound of the flute falls silent in the dale
As evening falls slowly
Silence reigns across meadows
A cool wind blows from the west
Into the homes through doors and windows
