As Long As I'Ve Your Light. Poem by Kyle Shield Laster

As Long As I'Ve Your Light.

God, do grant my faith white wings-
To fly far from the dirt:
To never know unhappiness;
To never know a hurt.

Tilt my chin high toward Your face
To keep me in thine sight.
Lean I'll not unto the shade
As long as I've Your light.

Never take my pleading cries
As childish made demands.
Know You of my thirst for You.
I know You understand.

Pray I will both day and night
And pass, I'll, every test.
Award to me Your Paradise
Where my Jesus does rest.
