As Some Like To Say Poem by Francis Duggan

As Some Like To Say

There's none of us perfect as some like to say
The flawed gene in us it is hidden away
Even from the very most of the observant kind
Dormant in the darkest recess of the mind
If we were all perfect it does seem to me
That we would be boring as boring can be
Quite upright and honest without a secret for to hide
And too serious in our thinking to have a humorous side
Those who do not take themselves too seriously can crack a good joke
And at parties and every get together laughter provoke
For their sense of humor alone they seem valuable indeed
And of their kind of people the Human World is in need
The near to perfect people to say the least few
To that you may say tell us something that's new.
