As Ukrainian women did cry
We just watched and listened and stood by,
And as our government did not one thing
Help and support or leaders would not bring.
Ukrainians freedom and lives cost to much,
So, our government screamed, "good luck".
As Ukrainian men did die
We just watched and listened and stood by,
As they fought in their ragged clothing and shoes and boots
"No! " said our government by the politicians in their pressed suits.
As they fought and died for their freedom,
Our government complained about the country's income.
As the Ukrainians asked for our help we did deny
We just watched and listened and stood by,
As Russian attacked Ukraine
Our government didn't care for their loss or pain.
After hearing and seeing the suffering over and over again,
And our government supported Putin.
As Ukrainians suffered and asked us why
We just watched and listened then turned away and stood by,
As we knowingly listened and believed our president's lie
We just watched and listened and stood by,
As we ignored the suffering and pain of an ally,
We didn't care we just watched and listened and stood by.
