As Usual

I woke up today
In the morning
As usual,
At 5 AM, my usual time.

I did all the tasks today
In the morning
As usual;
Filled up water, did yoga, made tea, made our meals, went to office...

I reached office today
In the morning
As usual;
Neither late nor early,
Just in time.

My day in the office passed today
Peacefully,
As usual;
At my own pace, no threats, no humiliating board meetings...

I reached home today
In the evening
As usual
At my usual time, peacefully, no jostling and hustling about in buses...

This kind of daily routine
After years of tumultuous struggle
Does feel reassuring and wonderful.
But I still feel scared because nothing lasts forever.

At any minute,
When I expect it the least
My boss might ask for me
And say, “You need not come tomorrow.”

And tomorrow
Will change again;
It will no longer be the same,
As usual...

We have got so much use to our robotic life, that we kind of enjoy it.. Its strange though but thats modern day slavery and it is going to stay here for some decades or maybe some centuries. Once this changes, that will be a real worth change that we humans are seeking for.

Beautiful poem. This reminds me of Shakespeare's lines: Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow Creeps in this petty pace from day to day To the last syllable of recorded time......
