As You Hide In A Dark Corner Poem by Doris Cornago

As You Hide In A Dark Corner

You cannot escape love
It reaches out to you
As you hide in a
Dark corner
Fearing
The light
Yet you come
Gingerly stepping
Feeling the soft warmth
Encircling, suffusing your being
Getting transformed in the wonder of
Knowing the unknown, the unfathomable

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Who has not fallen in love? There are those who have heard too much of the negative side on love that they have grown cold to it and will say with certainty, they have not fallen in love and have no intentions of doing. This poem is a reflection on this type of person - one who dares not fall in love. The butterfly does not fear the light because it knows that sunlight will not last long and so, must go out to savor the warmth of the sun/love.
