Ask Yourself If Poem by Doris Cornago

Ask Yourself If

Rating: 5.0

Next time you say you don't have the time,
Ask yourself bluntly if it is really a
Question of time or your lack of
Interest, not your concern
From now on prioritize
There is something
You've gotta do
Honestly think
What is it
To you
Or
Make
A priority
Of everything
That has importance
To you and embrace it
Fully, replacing the excuse
Of lacking time by the only truth
It is not my priority, why should it be
Being bluntly honest hurts but sets us free
From inventing lies, excuses, which ties us up

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Tell the truth even if it hurts. This uncomplicates your life and your relationships with people. Lying has become a habit for most that we end up in a jumbled messed up world. If we can retrace our paths, I'm sure truth would have been the easier choice.
