Not long ago asked, Little One
To the tree so very high
How is that you grow so tall
Big tree, please tell me why

Said the tree to, Little One
Much to her surprise
I give the birds a place to nest
And Squirrels a place to hide

I have seen so many winters pass
My seeds since then have grown
The forest covered all the land
It has become a woodland home

I grow and grow as nature asks
Until I'm very old
Like all and every question
There is a story to be told
