Assault
- - - - - - -
Almost I had forgotten
What I am
Since the day I was waylaid
Unto silence
I had a soul shattered
I had a heart broken
I wanted to be left alone
Pitifully I cried out
But they went deaf and dumb then
They jeered at my looks and clothes
And were slowly seizing them
The demons within
It was no longer my ugly face
That mattered as much as my waist, chest and legs
And it was time for me to draw the line
Behind every appeal
Was a woman who had been
Hauled up along a tough mile
Oh, what it meant to be a woman
No matter what I mean
This body is a pawn of twisted games
Still before they got too far
Courage I summoned up to dare them
Shouted aloud and aloud
Only to see people
In no time gathering around
They fled in fear
Since then I am a survivor
Looking within myself strength and valor
To fight them out
To live life with pride and honor
A great poem poignant in theme and powerful in diction! After the traumatic experience, she gathered strength to fight back the assailants and live with pride! Wish you Deepak, a Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year!
Aloha Deepak... Sweet and sour succubines! ala David Carridine! More than two of them... what the man ye be? or woosey! Trick imaginery and really well thought through pennery... you already got the tens in so I be content to give you a high five for this nice piece of poetry... Thank you my Friend and Bard that can sit at my round table anytime! All of the best from this life, to you, and all of your relations... Michaelw1two
