At The Crack Of Dawn Poem by Mohammad Younus

At The Crack Of Dawn

At the crack of dawn,
The morning star gave me a call,
Come out of sleep,
Look through the window,
The night is packing up soon,
You won't see even its shadow, yet again,
The ardent dawn will cast the soft sunny rays,
To pass through the sunlight of your roof,
And lead you to restive day,
To earn some peanuts for your living,
To observe on the streets of your walled city,
Unfamiliar intriguing faces...
...busy entangling your people in barbed wires,
Get up! Please tell your people,
Let us stop them!
