In a time of reflection
We think of our life
What if there is no Heaven above
Will we lie in a bed of our own suffering
As it is when you live long enough
As I walk and I wonder with an Atheist mind
What will it be like when I die
Will I remember who I am, Or will the dark take the light
Will I ever see Jesus, the man
While sitting on the bank of a stream, closely by
I think back to an earlier life
A time when a child asked Jesus to come
And he did, I remember the time
I remember the smile with peace felt inside
Funny; From an atheist mind
A child remembers when the man will deny
Unexplained to an Ashiest, why
When talking to myself near the watery shore
A feeling of warmth, felt inside
There is nothing behind, just a wonderful morning
Yet now, there are watery eyes
In the water, a refection stood close to my side
Then I knew that my life was not mine
He did not come to preach or to teach me a story
The story has been already mine
