Atlas Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Atlas

Atlas

In times I sit, feel lost
-from heard, found or lost

In times I feel feared and scared
-of shadows; short and long
-from dawn to the dusk
-of myself and others
-whoever can move, walk
-on two legs; of mankind

I can see, touch and feel
-Vampire and Ivan Grozny

Boils blood inside me
-raise the fog and steam
-of questions:
- "What are we? "
- "Who are we? "

Once we lived in the caves
-then in forts and castles
-it went on to palace

And many in the huts
-in Seri and Kreml

Then came the ownership
-and respect. To defend
-wife, mother and daughter
-we gave life in duel
-if not with suicide
- "Better dead than alive.
-What life if with shame? "
-killing was for honour!

Now, he comes with a girl
-his wife or partner
-in cases, his daughter
-to share sex
-I am lost and wonder…
-feel Atlas under Earth…
