Automatic Poem by Andy Brookes

Automatic

Can you reference it, she looked quizzical
the gun lay in parts.
now part a fits to part b and c and so on until huzzah you have a complete semi automatic weapon.
See her, sleek beauty he purrs,
its to kill your semi-detached neighbour when the big brew comes,
his word spit out like bullets.

she wrinkles her brow, head a pacifist shake
she think he's got a semi-detached brain
what you scared of? he says looking down the barrel
its you or them he shouts, but she has left.
definitely detached from his madness
she will protect herself she thinks but....
I wonder what I'd do in her boat.
