Autumn Poem by Paul Sebastian

Autumn

Autumn waltzes once a year
Graciously graces in to usher
Snow-flakey Christmas winter
Celebration flare, festivity enter

Autumn moves in, alerting in a hurry:
Under oak bough squirrels in a flurry
Collect acorns, to feed through autumn
Their warning is a mystery unfathomed!

Leaves coloured red, gold, and brown
Dance falling, carpeting barren ground
Breath-taking sight tinged with sadness
As if summer‘s reluctant to part its caress

Misty cool mornings raise its curtain
Unveiling colourful artist’s impression
Winds blow away colours of the day
Trees stripped barren of beauty display

Feathered flocks, to far-off lands migrate
Rabbits, their kind, in burrows hibernate
Butterflies go on season’s leave
Busy bees retire to go on retreat

Seasons season man’s resilience
Creation groans for spring’s resurgence
Thank God from one spring to another spring
Through life’s seasons, count your blessings
