Average Crook Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Average Crook

Just your average crook.
Wanting the best for less.
And what others possess.
Quick to receive like seen on TV.
Without investing sweat equity.

Just your average crook.
Don't read or open a book.
Living life on the way things look.
And seeking love to have it given.
To delude as if love is food.

Just your average crook.
Wishing to be instructed.
By those successfully corrupted.
The ones who sit on their butts.
Thinking up easy ways to get stuff.

Just your average crook.
Can't read or open a book.
Don't want nothing if not quick to get.
Then blame others,
For their attention deficit.

Just your average crook.
And nothing else they dream,
Wanting to be.
Just your average crook.
Like the people love in D.C.

Just your average crook.
Honestly deceiving and mentally corrupted.
Today?
More are your average crooks.
Honestly deceiving and mentally corrupted.
Today?
More are your average crooks.
Today?
Being instructed.
And...
Learning how to be corrupted.
Today?
More is the average crook.
Today?
Everywhere your eyes look.
Today?
Everywhere your eyes look.
Common is becoming your average crook.
