Avoided Wishes And The New Year Poem by Udaya R. Tennakoon

Avoided Wishes And The New Year

Just before the end of day of New Year began
My mind insisted to reflect the day I had
New Year wishes that I sent and received
Gave me a message I couldn't yet try to listen

Wishes I sent were the remedies for the happiness
Which were not hard since they not rooted inner
Wishes that not sent have placed in guilty
Whispers it to me and feel a bit uneasy

For peace in inner I must have to be brave
To open the year for a dialogue with hard minds
They neither just enemies nor just friends
For some reasons they are closed and hidden books

To be called a truthful beginning
I must first give a try to begging
Who is the first for the close of ending?
If so, it would be the New Year wedding

Either it accepts or it rejects
You might not a looser of the time
Perhaps will open the book here again
To read the life of such human beings
