Avoiding The Steel Toe Of A Boot. Poem by Ace Of Black Hearts

Avoiding The Steel Toe Of A Boot.

No time explain, no time at all for anything.
Living on the rails.
The edge of cliff with so many jagged rocks so far below.
I'm jumping I know the risks hopefully I get lucky and they miss.
Better then staying and staring down a barrel 45.
Oh they plan on using it.
I did them wrong that's my song.
Oh baby it's raining and it feels so good.
Maybe it will wash it all away.
I'm not running but I'm not staying.
I don't have time for fantasies or make believe.
There is no snow white and her poisoned apple.
Sleeping for what seems like eternity.
What a silly request.
As if that will some how make it all better.
The drug of freedom does have it own demons.
The price we pay each and every day.
Sometimes we can put it off.
But eventually the bill does come due.
And to think other wise makes you one of the biggest fool.
Plan on it.
Build your life around it.
So you have the time to move.
A buffer, a court date, a limit on how fast things can go.
Anything to change the way wind blows.
Trust no one, but your better angels.
They won't lead astray when that day comes.
In this life we are all playing games some are more experienced then others.
But remember this it isn't checkers, it's chess and I'm going after your king.
So always think ten moves ahead when buttering your bread.
Otherwise you'll spend years trying to put your pieces back on the board.
Each with there own difficulties.
So come at me only when your truly ready.
But just remember this is not my first.
