Awaiting A Companion Poem by Billy Loving

Awaiting A Companion

I watched a solitary flower today
Exuberant petals stretching forth
Filled with new found life
Anxiously awaiting others
Sadly standing all alone
So much alike, this flower and I
Fascinated, watching for hours
Expectantly taking my leave
Tomorrow I'll make my return
Hoping that another appears
It's companion, it will have found
To share the sun filled day
