I have struggled my entire life
to bring unity to our twin islands
nation and is known for my
bravery to fight the lion alone
and not feel sorry for myself
with humility, I have walked
the talked by listening to
the working -class people
to fight for their rights
in the sugar estates so
that they can keep their
culture awake

I grew up in the estate
plowing the land and planting
sugarcane before giving the
opportunity to go to England
and to become a certified
in law

I entered politics when
I saw that there was a need
for representation from the people
to speak on their behalf
It was only when I used the symbol
\of the chain to represent a
democratic party that the people
decided to give me a chance
with every breath of mine
I challenge the state fearlessly
for every righteous cause
and to maintain discipline
and respect for the people
by offering my service as a
sacrifice to humanity

I became a powerful force
with which to reckon with
by bringing all the parties together
to vote the ruling party out
of office
I was successful and inspired
to strengthen our two islands
to lead at at time when the price
of oil was very low yet
I managed to steer the boat
on course and kept the
nation flag flying high
amidst the storms of difficulties
I was able to build a new airport
one of the most modern
throughout the Caribbean
and make life comfortable
for every citizen
