Bandwagon Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Bandwagon

Once the running has been done.
To jump onto a crowded bandwagon.
No one on it should begin to complain,
About a decision made...
Heard placing blame to claim it,
On anyone else but themselves.
Since they all received,
The same information.
Through the 'grapevine'.

To question the direction.
Where the bandwagon goes.
Upon its approach to a garbage dump.
With it noticed,
The speed of the bandwagon...
Has begun to slow to then to stop.
At a destination,
All should have known.
When it had been deception they chose,
Ignoring a truth refusing to believe.
Openly exposed.
And clearly within their reach.
Dismissed for what it is.

No one...
Arguing,
To claim false information...
Given to misunderstand.
When long it should have been understood,
Listening to gossip.
As if this is truth to verify.
Will often end the trip,
At a stinking to smell of it destination!

"Hey!
You folks yelling and arguing,
Amongst yourselves.
Get off.
I have more than this trip to make.
You are not going to waste my time,
With your nonsense.
Get up. Get off. And get lost."
