Bar Girl Blues Poem by John Thorkild Ellison

Bar Girl Blues

Rating: 2.8

Although our little flirtation doesn't amount to much
I'd like to think you really care,
But if you do you needn't worry I'd do anything about it,
I wouldn't dare!
Of the difference in our age and attitudes
I'm well aware,
I'm just an old fool at the end of the day,
Given to drink and despair,
You're young enough to be my daughter
And it simply wouldn't be fair!
