Bat In The Room Poem by Dorsey Baker

A bat was flying around in the room
I grabbed a broom
opened thewindow
determined to force it out!
out the window
but it seemed it could not find
its way out of the window
I swung at it with the broom a few times
as it was flying madly around the room
dipping and diving
swooping and soaring
I swung at it
like a baseball batter
swinging at a baseball pitchers pitch!
The bat seemed rather distracted
Finally it did find the open window
and flew out of it
I closed the window
then I heard a knock upon the window
a vampire was peeping in!
