Bathsheba Syndrome - Poem by Ima Ryma

The bible tells of David, King,
Falling for Bathsheba in lust.
God was not pleased with such a thing.
Upon the kingdom, war was thrust.
The Bathsheba syndrome is named
For leaders who morally fail,
And who may or may not feel shamed,
Since their egos are on grand scale.
A leader's lust is power based,
And hard to keep secrets today,
And when exposed, there's such a waste,
And all who've been led have to pay.

Fallen leaders may not cause war,
But they sure cause gossip galore.
