Be The One Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Be The One

Be you the one,
Who remains to stay alert.
Cautious and observant.
To the atmosphere.
And the doings of Mother Nature.
Without approval or consent.
Of what 'She' does to not relent.
Regardless of who takes for granted,
With a caring less to appreciate...
Others also affected.
Yet...
Continue to neglect,
The climate around them they could protect.

However...
You be the one,
More conscious of what you do.
No matter what others unconsciously approve.
Or accept to tolerate,
The presence of ignorance...
To feed upon and digest.

You be the one,
To refuse and obey...
A following behind others to do.
Knowing this direction to take,
Makes them the fools.
And you,
May be by others thought as one.
But in time you will find,
And they will too...
Whose minds have been restricted,
To conflict and confusion.
