Be There For You - Poem by William Danner
When you cry you’re not the only one hurt
I’m lost standing here wondering what to do.
Reaching to comfort you, only pushed back.
What can I do to help you, come or stay put?
Do you want me or not? Because I need you,
Happy or sad, better or worse, I will accept you.
He’s not the only one who can be there for you.
We’re not perfect, but look around, who is?
What are you waiting for? Lost or unsaid?
I didn’t trust you, with the words that you said.
Now I try to follow, but if you want me to,
I’ll be there for you.
