I. War, disease, and pestilence
Nature seems to have it out for us
And as humans, we just make it worse
That's how it is, it is our curse
II. The oceans cry out and they cut us deep
Turning cities to waste like a garbage heap
It rocks our boats and it sinks our ships
With a turn of her mood, our fortune flips
III. Landslides tearing our own homes down
Cause we all felled the trees down first
Cause we build roads to run our cars through
So we pay the price, that is our due
IV. A blazing trail cuts into the green
It's like hell on earth, the classic scene
Where we lose more than what we thought we could
Where love should have been but it was not seen
Refrain:
And when mountains come crashing down
When the oceans do run out
When the forest catches fire
Tell me when the world comes ending...
Could we have been better if we did something right?
Could we, have changed history. And make the world all right
Could we just stop taking all for granted, giving love is what we're planting
And one day it'll sprout into a beautiful tree
V. The branches fall, the leaves all shake
The sun is gone, the world is still
Can we not leave an empty stump
In place of that beautiful tree
