Beautiful Upon The Waters, Unerringly The Swans Still Go

beautiful upon the waters, unerringly the swans still go

how I wish that in my real life

their serenity I might know

light may fade and still they linger

their own light to glide upon

perfectly aligned and tender

striving not and yet they find.

I in fretful dreams must worry

sometimes till the breaking dawn

in the frameless world to scurry

always feeling something's wrong

gliding through the turmoil vast

far from us they last and last

while in daylight we are fleeting.

time outlasts us all my friend

all have known this at the end

still I long to be like them

birds of dream still dreaming when

nothing dreams through all the glens.
