Bedtime Poem by Melanie Emikohe

Bedtime

Oh please,
Don't tap at my heart,
It's trying to go to sleep.

Don't show up at my door
With kind eyes.
It's been a run, I'm weary.

Somewhere uptown
Where honkings are a few
They make perfect shakes,

We can talk about it then,
But not today,
Not tomorrow.
