'Before You Say, 'I Do' Poem by Linda Winchell

'Before You Say, 'I Do'

Before you make that commitment
And give more than your heart away.
Remember those two important words
That you both are about to go and say.

Their words have the deepest of impact
On the lives you’re about to share.
Saying, ”I do”, says to another
That they really matter and that you honestly care.

Words spoken in the presence of God and man
To live together, until death you do part.
While looking deeply within another’s eyes
Entrusting them with your life and heart.

Before you walk down the aisle
To prepare for marital bliss.
There’s more that goes along with, ” I do”
Of which you will seal, bonding forever with a kiss.
