Befriend Me Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

Befriend Me

Can you find time and sit with me
Sit with me under the big umkhaya shade
Sitting with me in the quiet of my shaded thoughts
Listening to the unspoken sounds of friendship in us
The swishing sounds of love in the leaves as assurance
Assurance, that humanity is more spiritual than just flesh.

Come walk with me into the beauty of the setting sun
As we watch, nature gathering itself into the safety of His thoughts
The oranging of the horizon, a reminder of the beauty of sleep
In which, our vulnerabilities, are swallowed up in His abilities
Come walk with me into the future
For the two of us stand a greater chance against the unknown.

Excellent poem bro. The flow, the meaning and the metaphors are there. Great work.
