Behind Bars Poem by Dorsey Baker

Behind Bars

When they put you
Behind bars
You become a number
And you no longer
Have a name
When they put you
Behind bars
You become just
Another pawn in the game

They put you behind bars
And take away your dignity
They put you behind bars
And the man in you
They no longer see

They put you
Behind bars
And you become
Just another bird
In a cage
Just another animal
Full of rage
